Elections for ZPTC and MPTC seats in Velerupadu, Buttaigudem, Jeelugumilli and Polavaram mandals, scheduled on November 5, have been postponed to November 6, due to heavy rains triggered by Cyclone Murasu, said Eluru district Collector K. Vetri Selvi.

She directed the officers to shift the villagers to safer places immediately.

Police evacuated the villagers from Koya Madhavaram, Kummarigudem, Medipally, Allurinagar and other habitations as Peddavaagu is in spate in Velerupadu mandal.
