. General daily weather outlook WebsiteMeteorological Departmentstated that the 24-hour forecast shows reduced rain in the southern region but still heavy rain in some areas. Meanwhile, upper Thailand—especially the central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, plus the eastern region—will continue to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds in some places. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms, heavy and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, especially in hillside areas near waterways and lowlands.
This is due to a low-pressure area over the Andaman Sea moving toward the Bay of Bengal, combined with easterly winds covering Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand. At the same time, a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea.
For the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, where thunderstorms occur, waves are expected to exceed 2 meters. Boaters should check routes and navigate cautiously, avoiding areas with thunderstorms.
