Van 't Wout, the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic champion in the 1,500m, completed a sweep of the men's individual titles at the Vancouver stop last weekend and picked up where he left off, winning in 2:20.184. Canada's Felix Roussel took silver and Japan's Shogo Miyata bagged bronze.
Roussel went one better in the 500m, winning in 40.380 seconds, ahead of compatriot Maxime Laoun and Italy's Thomas Nadalini.
In the women's 1,000m final, the 28-year-old Choi crossed the line in 1:30.273, edging out Canada's Courtney Sarault, the Milan-Cortina Olympic silver medalist in the distance, by 0.063 seconds. Belgium's Hanne Desmet took bronze.

China's best individual result of the day came from young skater Zhang Bohao, who finished second in Final B of the men's 1,500m. China's women's relay team, which failed to advance to the final after finishing behind Canada and South Korea in the semifinals, won Final B.
In the mixed team relay semifinals, China defeated Italy, Japan and Belgium to book a place in Sunday's final alongside Canada, Italy and the Netherlands. The Chinese men's team also advanced to the 5,000m relay final after finishing second in its semifinal behind the Netherlands, and will vie for gold with Canada, the Netherlands and South Korea.
The Montreal stop concludes on Sunday with five gold medals up for grabs in the women's 500m, men's 1,000m, women's 1,500m, mixed team relay and men's 5,000m relay. ■
