UFC Vegas 123 video: Julian Erosa retires after wild 91-second comeback knockout - MMA Junkie
Julian Erosa ended his MMA career on a spectacular high at UFC Fight Night 292 when he rallied to knock out JeongYeong Lee.
After Lee (11-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) stormed out of the gate and cracked Erosa (31-13 MMA, 10-9 UFC) with a huge punch and nearly finished the job inside the first minute, the veteran survived and slowed down the action. He quickly got back in the firefight, but Erosa was on the one to seal the deal as he dropped his foe with a clean shot then put him out cold with ground shots at the 1:31 mark of Round 1 on Saturday at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
Moments before the knockout, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier questioned Erosa's decision to stand and trade. He was quickly silenced by Erosa, though, and called it a "fairytale" moment after seeing Lee put out cold
The 37-year-old Erosa had three stints under the UFC banner. He said now was the time to lay down the gloves, though, as he shared his retirement interview alongside his wife and child.
"I feel so amazing," Erosa said in his post-fight interview with Cormier. "" knew this was going to be my last fight, so I wanted to go out with a bang. I want to do this tomorrow, but I had to make the decision that was going to be my last fight, win, lose or draw. And I'm happy with that."
