President Donald Trump’s dreadful election night gets a two-word assessment from conservative commentator Meghan McCain — ”F***king bloodbath.”
As we get into the late hours of election night, Democrats are seeing big wins, and Trump is already shifting the blame off of him for what some saw as a victory and others saw as “pure hell.”
McCain, the daughter of the late Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, who has been critical of Trump, highlighted the grim election returns Tuesday night with her blunt comment. In a follow-up post, McCain called this year’s midterms the “worst election for a party since 1974. Well done, Republicans.”
Pro-Trump social media personalities also dramatically responded to Democratic wins, with Laura Loomer writing on X, “I hate to say it, but America is over.”
“We won’t be able to undo the damage they cause on our country come 2028. America 250 was a funeral. The American Dream is dead,” she added.
“They’re going to be ruthless. This is going to be two years of pure hell,” Joey Mannarino posted.
Mary Trump, the president’s estranged niece, sarcastically thanked Trump for his “betrayal of the American people” that ensured “Democrats win in a way that will make your life miserable for the next two years--and make our lives better.”
Trump faced record-low approval ratings as he held almost daily rallies to drum up support for Republican candidates, where he told his base to pretend he was on the ballot. His administration has been dogged by an unpopular Iran war, stubborn inflation and an immigration crackdown that many Americans found to be too aggressive.
Democrats are poised to take control of the House and the Senate — a major blow to Trump’s agenda. Democratic candidates, including James Talarico in Texas, Roy Cooper in North Carolina, Annie Andrews in South Carolina, Josh Turek in Iowa, Adam Hamilton in Kansas and Sherrod Brown in Ohio, won tight races Tuesday night in reliably Republican states.
Trump claimed Republicans lost key races because he wasn’t running.
“I wasn’t on the ballot, and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE!” he wrote on Truth Social late Tuesday night.
In a follow-up post, Trump said he would chime in on the election talk: “I’m going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost!”
He has yet to publish his analysis, but it is likely to include some strong words like other commentators — just not about himself.
