Cha Lu Braised Beef Noodle Shop at Rama Cinema presents an intriguing menu item. "Three-Herb Marinated Beef Gyoza" They also offer Grilled Tiger Meat, with the shop open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
If asked what filling gyoza should have, most people would answer pork, almost 99.99%. But at Cha Lu Braised Beef Noodle Shop in Phitsanulok, they offer a different answer with their appetizing three-herb marinated beef gyoza snack.
Cha Lu Braised Beef Noodle Shop, located near Rama Cinema on Boromtrilokkanat Road, developed a menu"Fried Beef Gyoza"to sell alongside their noodles. Ketsinee Kaensaree, the 29-year-old owner, says this is the first shop in the province to offer this dish.
Of course, the name gyoza comes from Japan, but the marinade is from Thai cuisine, known locally as "Sam Gleu" (Three Herbs) which includes coriander root, garlic, and pepper. They select premium-grade beef, mix it with these herbs and the shopβs own seasoning, marinate until well infused, then wrap in gyoza wrappers and fry in hot oil. The wrappers turn golden and crispy without absorbing oil, while the filling remains juicy and fragrant with spices.
Another dish the owner recommends is"Grilled Tiger Meat" which uses tiger cry beef with just the right marbling. The meat is marinated in a rich spice blend, grilled over a hot stove, and sprinkled lightly with salt and pepper. She says this dish doesnβt require any dipping sauce. Both dishes are sold at 60 baht per set.
