'They break their promises, Iran must be prepared for war': Ghalibaf says - Middle East Eye
Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher has said the country must be prepared for war even as it negotiates with the United States, accusing Washington of "making promises and then breaking them".
In a televised speech, Ghalibaf said Iran's main concern is preventing the US from attacking again. But he adds that a signed agreement with Washington is no guarantee.
“They break their promises,” said Ghalibaf. Iran must be prepared to fight “against a bullying enemy,” and “we must truly fight courageously on the battlefield".
“That is when we will have achieved sustainable deterrence.
“America must be penalised and made to alter its conduct, so it understands that it has to accept the Iranian nation's rightful demands," he added.
Speaker @mb_ghalibaf: Regarding the proposal presented, as we've said before, the US president made promises and then broke them. America must be penalized and made to alter its conduct, so it understands that it has to accept the Iranian nation's rightful demands. https://t.co/vhNwTlbf0N
