Supamas Orders Consumer Protection Board to Track Refunds After Cancellation of Japanese Concert, Coordinates with Police to Assist Victims  Thairath English

Supamas is continuing to follow the case of the canceled Japanese concert, instructing the Consumer Protection Board (CPB) to urgently investigate refunds and to coordinate with police if there are signs of fraud.

6 Nov 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and overseer of the Consumer Protection Board (CPB), announced that she has assigned Mr. Pradermchai Boonchuayluang, adviser to the Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to oversee assistance for ticket buyers of the Japanese concert that was canceled. She directed the CPB to expedite refund investigations and coordinate with police if any fraudulent behavior is found.

This action follows orders on 27 Oct to have the CPB examine ticket sales, recipients of payments, and refunds after singer Hai Arpaporn Nakhonsawan, along with representatives from the music label and affected groups, filed a complaint on 26 Oct 2026. The CPB is currently collecting data to determine which ticket buyers have been refunded, who have not, and any obstacles in the process, to promptly coordinate with responsible parties for resolution.

Ms. Supamas added that Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is concerned about citizens affected by purchases of goods and services. He emphasizes that government agencies must work together to resolve issues swiftly. Therefore, she has instructed the CPB to monitor refunds while coordinating with police to ensure victims receive both consumer rights protection and legal assistance.

Mr. Pradermchai stated that the CPB has coordinated with police regarding the facts and evidence from victims. If fraudulent conduct is suspected, victims will be encouraged to file complaints with the Technology Crime Suppression Division so investigators can take appropriate action.

For ticket buyers, the CPB will consider mediation and legal action on behalf of consumers when conditions under the law are met. Those who have not yet received refunds are advised to keep evidence such as ticket purchase proof, payment transfers, communication messages, and related documents for verification. Complaints can be submitted via the CPB hotline 1166 or the OCPB Connect app.Website www.ocpb.go.thor any provincial CPB office nationwide
