Schools, colleges and hostels across Hyderabad district will be covered under an awareness campaign on the El Nino weather phenomenon, with cultural troupes conducting programmes to educate people on the importance of conserving water and electricity.
Hyderabad District Collector Priyanka Ala announced on Monday (November 2, 2026) that members of the Telangana Samskruthika Sarathi (TSS) cultural troupes would conduct awareness programmes across all mandals in the district. The campaign will also cover government offices, residential neighbourhoods and major public junctions.
Speaking after an awareness session conducted by TSS members for district officials, the Collector urged residents to use water and electricity judiciously in view of the El Nino phenomenon. She said conserving water was a social responsibility and appealed to people to avoid wastage and use essential resources only as much as necessary.
