Quentin Lake hypes up Myles Garrett's return with NSFW quote - Rams Wire
Myles Garrett is nearing a return to the field for the Los Angeles Rams, and his teammates can’t wait. He’s played just one game this season and has been on injured reserve since Week 2, missing the last seven weeks with a knee injury.
Fans are itching to see the two-time Defensive Player of the Year back, and so is Quentin Lake. During an appearance on the “St. Brown Podcast,” Lake hyped up Garrett’s return with an expletive-filled rant. He said Garrett is different, calling him the “LeBron James of football” because of the things he can do on the field at his size.
"That's the first time when I said to myself, I said, ‘God doesn't make men the same.’ Dude is (expletive) different,” Lake said before being asked if it’s like Aaron Donald being different. “AD is different, but you see him and he’s like, OK, he’s comparable in size. He’s not too big. Obviously, he’s strong as hell. Work ethic is crazy. MG is like the LeBron James of football. (Expletive) is ridiculous, bro. The way he’s built and then the (expletive) he can do on the field is just wild. And people haven’t even seen it yet. People are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know, him coming off injury.’ Dude, he's going to (expletive) tear that (expletive) up when he comes back. I can’t wait.”
Garrett didn’t exactly make his presence felt in his debut against the 49ers in Week 1. He finished the game with zero tackles or sacks in 40 snaps played, recording three total pressures in the 27-7 loss in Australia.
He admitted after the game that it was the “worst version” of himself that he could’ve put out there, acknowledging that he wasn’t 100% healthy after dealing with a bad knee throughout training camp and practice leading up to Week 1.
It remains to be seen if he will play against the Commanders on Sunday, but he will practice this week, which is a positive step. Sean McVay just isn’t ready to say when he will suit up for a game.
If it is this week, we should see a much better version of Garrett than the one we saw in Week 1.
