PSL 12 Franchises to Discuss Auction Rules and Direct Signings Today - ProPakistani
A key workshop involving all eight Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises is scheduled for October 29 as preparations for the tournament’s 12th edition gather pace.
According to reports, the workshop will focus on player auction rules, the tournament schedule, operational matters, and direct signings ahead of the upcoming season.
The meeting comes days after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opened the direct-signing window until November 23, with the player auction scheduled for January 23, 2027.
Under the pre-season roadmap, each franchise can directly sign one marquee player who has not participated in either PSL 10 or PSL 11.
Meanwhile, PSL 12 is scheduled to run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with eight teams competing for the title.
The tournament window was finalized following consultations with franchise owners and representatives during the PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, 2026.
The upcoming edition follows a historic PSL 11 season, which saw the league expand to eight teams and introduce its first player auction, replacing the traditional draft system.
The season also recorded an attendance milestone, with 32,461 spectators watching the final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi secured their first title in nine years after defeating league newcomers Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3.
