Guthrie posted an image on Instagram of a drawing by her young daughter that evoked her feelings about her elderly mother’s disappearance. The drawing shows a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops, with a caption that reads: “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.”

Her child’s artwork “says so much about how I feel,” Guthrie wrote.

“For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren: we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward,” Guthrie said in the post, naming members of her immediate family. “We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.”

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson home on Feb. 1.

Authorities have said the crime involved a ransom demand. The investigation by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the FBI, has not produced any significant breaks in the case.

A hair found in Nancy Guthrie’s home did not lead to a suspect after testing, investigators said in July.
