Parliament announces death of NCOP secretary Modibedi Phindela - EWN

Parliament has announced the sudden passing of the secretary to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Modibedi Phindela. 

Phindela had been a long-serving parliamentary official, first serving as the undersecretary to the provincial house. 

An advocate by profession, Phindela had been the NCOP's top administrator since 2010. 

Parliament said Phindela played a significant role in its evolution, helping to strengthen its practices and administrative foundations. 

Parliament's presiding officers, Speaker Thoko Didiza and NCOP chairperson Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, said his unexpected passing has sent shockwaves through the institution.
