Pakistan Approves National Curriculum for Public and Private Schools - ProPakistani
The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has approved the New National Curriculum of Pakistan (NNCP) 2026, which will be implemented from the 2027-28 academic year.
The revised curriculum will apply to public and private schools in Islamabad and educational institutions operating under federal administration across the country. It covers Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) through Grade 5.
Under the new curriculum, Urdu, English, and mathematics will be taught as core subjects, alongside health and physical education and arts and crafts.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has also been included for students from Grades 1 to 5.
Meanwhile, students in Grades 1 to 3 will study “The World Around Us,” while science and social studies will be taught in Grades 4 and 5.
The ministry has also sent notifications to all provincial governments, including Punjab, regarding the new curriculum’s implementation.
The approved curriculum will be available on the official website of the National Curriculum Council (NCC).
