Special Chief Secretary (Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture) Shamsher Singh Rawat on Friday (November 6, 2026) directed officials of all departments to work in coordination and make elaborate arrangements for the CII Partnership Summit to be held on November 12 and 13, 2026, in Visakhapatnam.
Reviewing the preparations with State and district-level officials at the Collectorate, along with Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore, Mr. Rawat said all advance measures should be taken so that delegates from India and abroad face no inconvenience. A command and control room should coordinate with the departments, and liaison officers should be well versed in their duties, the needs of guests and the programme details.
Special tourism circuits and trained guides should be arranged to introduce local attractions to foreign guests, he said. Hop-on hop-off buses should be used, welcome and signage boards put up on routes to tourist sites, and the summit publicised across the city.
The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) was told to speed up civil works, beautification and sanitation, and install CCTV cameras where needed. Structural, fire and electrical safety, and public address systems at the venues should be inspected and certified. All measures should be taken for the security of guests.
A reception desk and a welcome team should be set up at the airport to receive guests in keeping with Telugu traditions, including with traditional shawls. Accommodation, transport, protocol, and the welcome and gala dinners should be handled meticulously. Registration desks should be set up on the engineering college ground opposite the main venue, with parking, a traffic plan and mobile toilets, officials were instructed.
Mr. Kishore said that the control room would function from November 9. Registration and issue of passes would be monitored from the Collectorate, with officials of the departments concerned available at the control room.
Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi and GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg were among those present.
