Three young men took a triple ride on a bike on a Mumbai road without wearing helmets, recorded themselves flouting traffic rules and posted the video on social media. The video, in which they were heard saying "Mumbai is ours" while challenging the police, went viral. Two of them have been arrested, while the third is absconding.

The incident took place on October 26, around 10.30 pm, on DN Road opposite Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station. The three men were travelling on a single bike, without helmets. The bike was also being driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner.

The two-wheeler was being driven by Dilshad Ramzan Ali Khan, 22, while Aamir Khan, who was seated in the middle, recorded a selfie video on his mobile phone. Mohammad Shakir Maniyar, 19, was seated at the rear.

In the video, the three men can be heard boasting about riding triple-seat without helmets and violating traffic signals. They claimed that despite openly breaking traffic rules, no action would be taken against them because "Mumbai is ours".

Following the video's circulation on social media, Azad Maidan Police Station registered a case based on a complaint filed by traffic police personnel and the police subsequently initiated an investigation to identify the men involved in the incident.

Two of the accused, Dilshad Ramzan Ali Khan and Mohammad Shakir Maniyar, have been arrested. They are Mumbai natives. The third accused, Aamir Khan, an Uttar Pradesh native, is absconding, and police are searching for him.

The accused have been charged with a combination of reckless driving and public endangerment under criminal law BNS, alongside traffic and safety violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, specifically for triple riding, not wearing a helmet and reckless driving, as well as unsafe or modified vehicle.- Ends
