Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Thursday urged the newly elected corporators from the NDA parties of the Visakhapatnam North Assembly constituency to make public service their foremost priority and work sincerely for the development of their wards.
Speaking at a felicitation programme organised in the city, he said that the mandate carried greater responsibility. “Corporators should remain accessible to citizens, monitor local issues and work with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials to resolve problems relating to drinking water, sanitation, roads and drainage”, he said.
Mr. Sribharat said the alliance’s victory was the result of coordination and unity—from seat-sharing to the selection of candidates— between the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He commended Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju for ensuring a fair and balanced approach while choosing candidates with their strengths in view.
Cautioning against complacency, Mr. Sribharat asked the elected representatives to fulfil campaign assurances and avoid unrealistic promises. He hoped the three parties would continue to work together for the progress of Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam.
Mr. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Jana Sena Party constituency in-charge P. Usha Kiran, Mayor Mukka Sravani and other leaders were present.
