BJP president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday (October 28, 2026) said that Narendra Modi will return to the ramparts of Red Fort on Independence Day as the Prime Minister after winning the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, even as the Congress “breathes its last” under Rahul Gandhi.
Accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra and a large number of party workers, Mr. Nabin led the BJP’s “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” march in the Chandni Chowk area, marching from the Jain Lal temple to the Town Hall Chowk.
“Congress leaders are distressed by the SIR exercise that seeks to clean up the voter list, but the BJP is committed to ensuring that infiltrators are removed from it,” Mr. Nabin said, addressing party workers.
Slamming Rahul Gandhi and the Congress for opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in many States, Mr. Nabin said, “He has nothing to do with the Constitution and his party listens to only what he or his family dictates.”
The BJP chief also claimed that PM Modi will go nowhere and will return to the ramparts of the Red Fort after the 2029 Lok Sabha polls, the venue for the Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech.
“Congress is breathing its last under Rahul Gandhi. The way he is going, soon he will be the only worker left in the party,” Mr. Nabin said.
