A Congress MLA in Madhya Pradesh was left shocked after finding a young man and a woman in a compromising position inside a room allotted to him at the MLA Rest House in Bhopal. The incident has raised questions over security arrangements and access to rooms at the government facility.

Dinesh Jain Boss, who represents the Mahidpur Assembly constituency, has sought an enquiry into the incident, alleging that the couple had gained access to a room allotted in his name without his knowledge or permission.

The incident took place in Block 3 of the MLA Rest House, an official said. According to Boss, he returned from Delhi on November 2 and reached the guest house at around 2 pm.

The legislator had been allotted Rooms 14 and 15. On reaching the rest house, he asked the caretaker for the key to Room 15 but was told that it was not available at the time. He was subsequently handed the key to Room 14.

However, when he reached the room, Boss allegedly found a young man and a woman in an objectionable situation inside the adjoining Room 15.

The couple reportedly fled after seeing the MLA. Boss then raised the matter with the staff of the rest house and questioned how anyone could enter a room officially allotted to him, in his absence.

In his complaint, Boss alleged that the keys to the rooms allotted to him were kept at the reception counter and that the caretaker had handed them over to the couple without his knowledge or consent.

He questioned the security arrangements at the facility and sought accountability over how the room was accessed by outsiders despite being allotted in his name.

The Congress MLA subsequently wrote to the Principal Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Secretariat, seeking a detailed probe into the incident and action against those found responsible.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly said the incident occurred at Block 3 of the MLA Rest House.

He said Boss had submitted a written complaint to the Principal Secretary and that the PWD was investigating the matter.

The enquiry is expected to examine how the couple gained access to the room allotted to the legislator and whether there was any lapse in the management of room keys at the facility.- Ends
