Meghan Markle 'excited' as Prince Harry fears humiliation - The News International

Meghan Markle is reportedly very ‘excited’ to meet her mother Doria as the Duchess plans to celebrate Christmas with her after Thomas scandal surfaced.

However, the insiders have claimed Prince Harry fears ‘humiliation’ in leaving the UK but the Duke has no other choice but to follow Meghan.

According to a report by the Closer, the insiders have said Meghan Markle wants to celebrate the festival with mother Doria and her friends in California.

Prince Harry has made his efforts to persuade Meghan they should stay in UK, but “she wasn't prepared to sit around and be humiliated, waiting to see if the royals would extend an invite.”

“It was the perfect excuse to book a flight back to the US and Harry ultimately didn't have much choice but to follow,” the close source continues.

They returned to Britain recently, however, their ties with royal family have not improved yet.

Now, to save the face, Prince Harry has been insisting this was always the plan to mark the event in US.

“They are all about putting on a united front, so he's saving face and telling people this was always the plan, but everyone knows he had his heart set on an English Christmas,” the close confidant told the outlet.

The source said Meghan is already making plans as she wants to host a holiday party in Montecito, “she can't wait to see her mum and is very excited.”

Harry's fear is that his father King Charles will interpret this as them putting their “noses in the air and heading back to the US in a huff”.

“He doesn't want to reinforce the impression that he wants to flit in and out of royal life whenever it suits him,” the insider said.

The source goes on, “The fact is, he's still holding out hope Meghan will change her mind, but that's not going to happen.”
