Lowe's opening one more store in 2026. See list of new locations - USA Today

Lowe’s is wrapping up 2026 with one final store opening, this time in a southern state that has steadily grown over the past few years.

The store, located in Texas, marks the company’s eighth and final opening for 2026 and the fifth opening in the Lone Star State this year, the company told USA TODAY. Lowe’s has 154 Texas stores – the highest number of locations in any state.

Lowe’s did not say how many stores are planned for 2027 but the chain has over 1,750 home improvement stores, 540 branches and 120 distribution centers. According to the company, the home improvement chain finished fiscal year 2025 with more than $86 billion in sales. 

The new store was built with the company’s new layout in mind, including a redesigned kitchen showroom with larger product displays and signage with QR codes that link to online tools like a style quiz, budget calculator and 3D visualizer.

There’s also a new tool section with a more open layout with reorganized product categories, making it easier for customers to find what they’re looking for, Lowe’s said.

Here’s what we know about the company’s eighth and final opening in 2026.

The new location is opening on Nov. 20 in Willis, Texas, about 48 miles north of Houston. The company said Willis' population has grown nearly 20% since 2020, the company said.

The store will be in Montgomery County, which grew by more than 30,000 people between July 2024 and July 2025, Lowe’s said, citing U.S. Census Bureau data. 

The company said the new store has about 95,000 square feet of retail space and 26,000 square feet of outdoor garden area space. 

Store Manager Jacob King is not new to the company, Lowe’s said in the press release. He has worked at three stores but this will be his first time opening as a store manager.

“I’ve been with Lowe’s for 16 years, and getting the chance to build a new store and team from the ground up is really special,” said King in the press release. “There’s a lot of growth happening around Willis, but it still has that close-knit community feel.”
