Kollam residents no longer have to waste time commuting to the collectorate just to submit a complaint or share a concern. Under the newly launched ‘Meet the Collector,’ citizens can now speak with the Collector directly through video calls using the ‘Nammude Keralam’ mobile app.
To access the service, users can simply open the app, navigate to the ‘Meet an Official’ feature, and request a video interaction. The digital setup aims to remove the physical distance between top district administrators and the public, allowing residents to raise pressing local issues from the comfort of their homes.
The initiative is built to go beyond just listening to complaints, it also enforces accountability. A dedicated monitoring mechanism tracks every application submitted through the app to ensure action is taken without unnecessary delay. Residents can even log in to check the real-time status of their request, including which official is handling the case and what steps have been taken so far.
By harnessing modern technology the initiative helps to speed up public services and track administrative actions. The project is expected to build greater trust and make local governance more transparent and accessible to everyone.
