According to a written statement from the Iranian leader’s office, Khamenei met with high-ranking military officials, including Ali Abdullahi, Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces; Major General Emir Hatemi, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army; and Major General Ahmed Vahidi, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It was reported that during the meeting, Khamenei instructed the military officials to be prepared for possible attacks and told them to “respond swiftly, effectively, and without regard to geographical boundaries” to such attacks.

It was also noted that Iranian leader Khamenei stated, “If the enemies resort to military or terrorist attacks again, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian people will decide when and under what conditions these attacks will end.”

Khamenei, who called for strengthening domestic defense capabilities in terms of tactics and doctrine and developing the security architecture by utilizing new technologies, also emphasized the need to make efforts to increase financial support for the armed forces.

During the meeting between Khamenei and military officials, it was reported that the Iranian Armed Forces’ target list had been updated, and it was decided that all “material and immaterial” elements belonging to the U.S. and Israel would be included in the target list within Iran’s strike range.

It was noted that during the meeting, Iranian commanders presented a report to Khamenei regarding the status of military units stationed in the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and the country’s border regions, as well as the current ammunition capacity.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Erakchi stated that there were no plans for talks with U.S. officials and that the claims made regarding such a meeting did not reflect the truth. Erakchi also said that negotiations with Qatar were ongoing regarding a new proposal that would reduce the timeframe for implementing Iran’s plan to open the Strait of Hormuz to two days, provided that Tehran’s demands are met.

Regarding the proposal presented to Qatar, Erakchi said, “The Qatari side had requested that the implementation period of our proposal be reduced to five days. At this stage, however, we are focusing on a proposal to reduce this period to two days.”
