Sajid Hussain has lived at the same address in the Dayalpur neighborhood of northeast Delhi’s Mustafabad for over two decades. But on Wednesday (October 28, 2026), the tailor was shocked to learn that Form 7 applications have been filed to delete the names of his son and wife from Delhi’s electoral roll during the ongoing claims and objections period as part of special intensive revision (SIR).
Mr. Hussain said he had never heard the name of the person who filed the Form 7s against his son, Asad Raza Zaidi, and his wife, Afsana Khatoon. The two were among the 28 voters in the neighborhood against whom deletions were sought, citing ‘absent/permanently shifted’ or ‘death’ as the reason. The applications were all filed by Chandra Shekhar Nainwal, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-appointed booth-level agent-2 (BLA-2), as per the records of the Election Comission of India (ECI).
