Telangana government has slashed charges for Hyderabad Metro-RTC common pass by more than half for the monthly pass and by 31% for the daily. While the number of trips using the passes was unlimited earlier, there is a cap now. The revised prices will come into effect from Sunday (November 8, 2026).

The earlier prices were ₹8,500 for the monthly pass and ₹400 for the daily. The steep prices were criticised soon after the launch. The maximum charges to travel between Miyapur and L.B. Nagar (red line), and Nagole to Raidurg (blue line) is ₹69.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced on Friday (November 6, 2026) that the monthly pass charges are reduced to ₹4,000, with ₹3,000 for commuting in Metro and ₹1,000 for RTC services. A maximum of 50 round trips in a month can be availed using the pass.

The charges of daily pass were reduced from ₹400 to ₹275, with ₹200 for Metro services and ₹75 for RTC. A maximum of four ‘single journeys’ in a day are permitted.

The Transport Minister said that the decision was taken to reduce travel costs for people and make public transport services accessible. He said it is a gift for people on the occasion of Deepavali. Officials were directed to take measures for implementation of the revised prices from November 8.
