Hero Xpulse 150 at EICMA 2026: Is Hero bringing back the original?
The star of the Hero MotoCorp stand at EICMA 2026 was undoubtedly the Hero Xpulse 450. However, stealing some of the spotlight was another surprise in the form of the Xpulse 150. Interestingly, Hero's on/off-road motorcycle journey began with the Impulse, a 150cc motorcycle, and the new Xpulse 150 feels like a fitting homage to its predecessor.
The motorcycle gets an all-new fairing with a redesigned LED headlight setup. The high-mounted front mudguard and purposeful-looking tyres add to its rugged appeal. Hero has also introduced a new digital instrument console. While it isn't particularly fancy, it is functional and gets the job done.
The seat design has been revised, and there is now a small luggage rack at the rear. The seat height stands at 826mm, while the tail-light design has also been updated. Although the overall silhouette remains reminiscent of the Xpulse 210, the new 150 brings a slightly more aggressive character to the package.
Powering the Xpulse 150 is a 150cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 12.2bhp and 12.8Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle tips the scales at 141.5kg and gets a 10.6-litre fuel tank.
In terms of hardware, the Xpulse 150 rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, while ground clearance is rated at 220mm. These specifications, along with its lightweight construction, suggest that Hero intends to retain the accessible, go-anywhere character that has defined the Xpulse family.
There is little to doubt that I am a proper petrolhead. Grew up collecting scale models and still does so. The passion became a proffession decades back and from then on there has been no looking back. For a living I test vehicles using sophisticated data logging equipment and then crunch data to tell you the results and my verdict. I am also on the jury of the Indian Car of the Year and the Indian Motorcycle of the Year awards.
When not at work (which is rarely) I love tending and restoring old motorcycles and scooters which are all a part of my personal collection. And did I tell you that being fiercly Bengali I do not mind riding or driving hundreds of kilometers to get to my favorite curry!
