A bank in France has become the latest target in a spate of cyberattacks in Europe. A security breach also hit blood storage facilities in the country.

Credit Mutuel Arkea in northwestern France said on Wednesday that it had halted some services after a cyberattack enabled fraudulent transactions.

The bank says the breach has been contained and had no impact on customer assets. It is still assessing the amount of money affected, but the bank says the incident will not undermine its financial soundness.

Local media say an expert estimates that 133 million dollars from the bank may have been sent to cryptocurrency accounts.

Meanwhile, a French blood bank said a cyberattack caused cold storage temperatures for blood products to soar at three sites on Monday.

The French Blood Establishment said the attack caused no damage. A monitoring system detected an abnormality and officials immediately relocated the products.

The incidents come after hackers targeted supermarkets across Europe. The attacks raised the temperatures of fridges and freezers, forcing stores to discard food items.
