A 15-metre fishing boat, the High Roller III, remains on the rocks at Bay de Verde, where it ran aground over the weekend.

The Coast Guard is involved in the response to the incident. The response was ongoing through the day on Monday.

CBC News has requested more information.

The boat was grounded close enough to a seawater intake system for the Quinlan Brothers seafood plant that operations at the plant were put on hold at least for the day out of caution, according to Robin Quinlan.

CBC was told the plant was preparing to process farmed salmon from Placentia Bay. The company has to be sure the plant's wells and water system did not pick up any diesel fuel.

The vessel's owner has so far not responded to messages.
