A CERES-2 Y3 carrier rocket blasted off at 7:37 am Beijing time on November 7, 2026, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, delivering four satellites including the Guanlan experimental satellite and the Yunyao-1 28 satellite into a 535 km sun-synchronous orbit.
Developed by Chinese commercial rocket maker Galactic Energy, the CERES-2 is a medium-lift launch vehicle for the commercial launch market. An upgraded model in the CERES series, it adopts a configuration of three solid stages in series plus a liquid upper stage, with a liftoff mass of approximately 100 tonnes and a payload capacity of 1.3 tonnes to a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit. It is compatible with multiple launch modes, including land and sea launches.
