Bengals rookie Cashius Howell's injury required surgery - Bengals Wire
Cincinnati Bengals rookie defensive end Cashius Howell suffered a wrist injury during Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans.
By the time Bengals head coach Zac Taylor rolled into his weekly Monday press conference, Howell had already undergone surgery to address the issue.
Speaking with reporters, Taylor said that Howell is now an injured reserve candidate and will be out “weeks” at this time.
With others at the spot injured as well, Howell’s injury should mean the Bengals consider being buyers at the NFL trade deadline. If the rookie goes to injured reserve, he would miss the next four games at a minimum, potentially returning for Week 13 against the Cleveland Browns at the earliest.
Howell had started his rookie season hot, recording one sack and three tackles over seven games on a rotational basis while playing just 39 percent of the snaps. His play had him ahead of even Shemar Stewart, the first-rounder from last year.
