A fire broke out in a parking area in Chinchwad near Pune, injuring a man and gutting 17 two-wheelers and four four-wheelers, officials said on Thursday (October 29, 2026).
The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday (October 28) in the parking lot of the Kunal Market building at Chapekar Chowk.
An official from the Pimpri-Chinchwad fire brigade said the main fire station received a call about the blaze at 1.59 a.m. Subsequently, two fire tenders were sent to the spot, fireman Vivek Patil told PTI.
A few individuals were stranded on the upper floor of the building, and the team rescued them, Mr. Patil said. Fire brigade personnel doused the flames using hose reels, he said, adding that one person suffered injuries in the incident.
Some of the 17 two-wheelers gutted in the fire were electric vehicles. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, said officials.
